Burger Grand Master I

When you have a delish beef smashed patty with crumbled edges, all is forgiven. Yes, the tomato and lettuce are meh, and the cheese is average. Even the sauce needs more kick. But it's all about the sum of things, and the Cali Burger has that In and Out feel, goes down smooth. I think their cheeseburger or Big Mac tribute is better :-)

First time trying their take on the humble cheeseburger. Generous lashings of sauce, melted cheese and that gold-standard beef patty all combined to make a very delish burger that goes down smooth. Needs to be more crispy to get to Butter/Mary's levels but it's almost there :-)

Flipp was quiet on a busy Saturday afternoon, not a good sign for it's longevity. Wish more people could discover their chicken burgers, this one had the crunchy-coated goodness, smack-bang with a chilli-jam sauce that I wish had more kick. It's no butter chicken (ha!) but for food court fare, it's a step above.

Second time in Big Bun, a burger joint in Merrylands. Their Big Mac tribute was decent last time, so I was disappointed when I tried their other double beef burger. The patty was so meh, lifeless, and tastes like cardboard. I suppose if you were starving, the first few bites when it's fresh may disguise the fact that you're eating something deeply average. Add 0.4 for the fries, they were nice hehe

Sometimes u need a snack-me-up and I decided to go and support the food court underdog Flipp. It's not a bad cheeseburger, it lets itself down with a dense bun and a beef patty is on the verge of glory but lacks the zing. Their chicken burgers are superior

At a Christian conference at Hoxton Park this week so a chance to grab another burger from Cali. First time trying their chicken burger, this one with hot BBQ sauce which didn't hit right...no spice kick, no tang, just meh. Cos lettuce also isn't my first pick for green on burgers...no green is preferred haha. Everything else is solid, delish fried chicken that tears off nicely, they pack everything in that 'in-and-out' style foil wrapping and it holds the burger in from start to finish with no mess :-)
